Mine does that also.
The 'ringer' symbol appears on screen, then the volume indicator slides upwards, even though I am not pressing anything.
But behavior is not consistent.
Sometimes it's on wake from sleep ,otehrtimes it's just when I move my thumb close to the buttons.
The volume indicator does not disappear until I actually press a volume button.
I have not been able to find a process to make this happen on demand.
I'm keeping an eye on it but it's not worth the hassle to send it off at the moment.
Is it possible that it is static electricity?
Do you guys live in an area with low humidity. Winter is usually low humidity in a lot of places.
I know where I live here in the desert especially with my rubber soled shoes I darn near get a heart restart any time I touch something. And that is not a joke.
My phone (knock on wood) does not show the problem you folks are having, not that iPhone problems seem to be that uniform across a particular model. I also have a Griffin "Bumper" band (no front or back just a bumper) so when I pick up my phone I don't come in direct contact with the metal band (antenna).
Just a thought.
Hi guys... even i have these issues on my 4s !!
My phone has been doing this since the past 2 months.. the ringer screen pops up time and again.. its bugging especially when im smsing etc ...
When i rub my fingers on the buttons it goes away and then comes back after some time.. it could be static electricity but I cant change my location - So apple needs to handle it !! (I live in Mumbai - India-). I have a Case-Mate protector but it does not help !!
My 4s vibrator too does not work !! I have tried restoring & all the tricks - of patting it etc.. somehow it does not seem to start .. I got my phone from Canada.. now I will have to wait to get it replaced - As Apple (India) cannot do it for me !
Is Apple listening !!! ?? !!
