Podcast page not updating?

Hi,

Our podcast is Mediaphillia. I updated it a few weeks ago and left it but the page hasn't updated. I checked over the RSS and found that link to the MP3 had the wrong length. I fixed it but a week later the feed still hasn't updated. What could be the problem?

The first time I tried to subscribe to your feed iTunes said it couldn't download it. The second time it worked. This suggests that you server may be responding intermittently, and when the Store carried out its periodic check it was unable to contact the server and thus couldn't update. You would need to look into your hosting service about this.

I just checked again and although it works in a browser, and FeedValidator can read it, iTunes will not read the feed at

I can't offer any explanation for this weird behaviour. You have the redirect tag in there correctly, but if you can't persuade iTunes to read the feed this won't work, and I'm afraid your only option will be to resubmit the new feed as a new podcast - you will need to change the title slightly or you will be told that it has already been submitted.

If you do this the original podcast will still be available in the Store at

and although there is a method for getting it removed detailed here recent posts by others in a similar situation suggest that the iTunes Store staff are no longer bothering to comply with removal requests. As the feed is dead it may eventually get removed anyway, though this could take some time.
