as soon as I make a call, doesn't go through until after 4-5 tries. Can someone help? It always takes 4 or 5 tries for any call to go through. Also, I've noticed that it does this more often once the battery level on the 4S reaches 30% or lower...

I've had a similar issue... its only been a little over a week since i picked up my new phone, and once the battery meter gets to around 30-35%... i have to try all calls 3 times for it to go through. The first 2 attempts come up with the "CALL FAILED" screen, asking me to try again!

The same thing was just happening to my iPhone 4, just started today. Very random, tho I did just update my phone to 5.0.1 yesterday..
Anyhow, I did a restore. I tried the whole "set your automatic time clock to off" thing I found online, nothing worked. I took it to the apple store, they did a restore there, hit setup as a new phone and presto it worked.
So do that, restore, setup as a new phone, then plug it in to itunes and restore from your back up. Worked for mine.
I am having this issue from last 5 days as I am calling to my wife on Vodafone to Vodafone, I am getting the message "Call Failed". I am trying the last option above to backup and restore as a new phone then I will take it to Apple Store tommorrow
