Quicktime Streaming Startup

Hi,

I am running OS X Snow Leopard server on a Mac Mini. I am attempting to setup the Quicktime Streaming Server process. I have a few questions about getting this running. First is, what parameters do I need to set up on my router for this work over the internet. Second, what exactly will the QTSS stream? Will it stream videos in a folder on the directory? If so, are those files limited to certain types such as .mov, or can it stream any video type? The goal here is to be able to stream video from my server online to my laptop wherever I am in the world. I travell for work all the time and would like to be able to download all my files to my server and stream them rather than store them on my laptop. Any help would be appreciated.
