Movies purchased after ios5 upgrade will not sync in ipad2

So I upgrade to ios5 on my iphone 4 and my ipad2. Then any purchased movies - bought after the ios5 upgrade(!) on my imac - will not sync to either device (earlier purchased movies will sync(!). I keep getting the "you are not authorized on this computer" error message. Shockingly at the same time - I can play them via homesharing to my ipad to my flatscreen via a HDMI connector on my ipad 2 - so clearly I have all the authorizations correct. I have logged into the same user id on my imac as my ipad and my iphone - as listed in the ownership for the new movies downloaded after my ios5 upgrade.

I want to load them on the ipad to play separately away from my home wifi - even went to manually load the movies but still get the error message. Frustrating and very strange - is this an ios5 bug?

Yes - it hangs on the iphone sync too - and the keynote remote app on my iphone does not work with ipad over bluetooth either - but that's for another thread.

Thanks in advance.

Same problem here. This happens only with the two latest movies I purchased on iTunes. All other movies keep being synchro as usual.

Coincidentally, those two movies were purchased after I migrated to OS X Lion. By the way I did upgrade to iOS5 at same time. So it is the problem coming from iOS5? OS X Lion? I tested on my iPod as well and all synchro are properly done except for those tow movies.

Apple support via email is useless. They don't have any solution yet but to send you links not related to the issue.

Okay - I upgraded to ios5.0.1 Did it help? Nope - the fix was not in this update. Since chriscdb30 and I are not getting any posts with this thread (and I'm not seeing any suggestions from similar threads) I'm gonna head to the Genius bar next week when I have time.

Been with Apple since 1983 - and with Apple - "it just works" (most of the time...)

Went to the Genius bar at the Wellington Green Apple store and spoke to Nicole. First she tried to make the itunes folder "read and write" capable - she said a lot of other permissions issues cures this type of stuff. Then when that didn't work she looked up an article entitled "itunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play itunes store purchases" under support.apple.com/kb/ts1389 - follow the fourth option to remove the sc info folder. Ta-da! it synced like a champ.

BTW - the keynote remote app on my iphone and keynote on the ipad - bluetooth is no longer supported - what! Oh well. Forgot to ask about the iphone sync hang.

Best to all
