keep getting icloud error message "verification failed ; cannot connect to the server." Am connected to wifi. What's wrong?

On the iPhone tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Then turn your iPhone off, wait a second and then turn it back on. This should solve the problem
This solved my problem. Icloud/Iphone connection was lost and would not update calendar or tasks. Problem seemed to have started with latest upgrade to Iphone. Anyway the reset instructions above did the trick. Thanks!

I just ran into this problem also. I am using an iPhone 6 running IOS 8.1.3. This solve the problem!🙂
I'm having this issue I have an iPhone 5s running ios 8.4 this did not work for me. Any other suggestions? I need to back up this phone because I've made changes since my last update and need the preserve it.
