ebook reader in itunes

I downloaded a ebook from the iTunes store because it said that it would work in iTunes in the description, but I can not open it in iTunes. Is there a reader just for the desktop iTunes? If not, how can I get my money back because I do not have an iPod Touch, iPad or an iPhone. $26 is a lot to pay for a picture of a book that I wanted.

Help, I have wasted 3 hours on this so far!
