How-to avoid Error -49 in iMovie

Some users notice on exporting larger projects from within iMovie that this operation is aborted with an 'error -49'

This issue occours only on MacOs machines using 10.7x



try switching-off the Local Mobile Backup


in Terminal copy/paste

sudo tmutil disablelocal


Relaunch Mac

The Mobile Backup is meant as a 'inbetween'-backup on a mobile Mac when you're on the road. The moment you're connected to your regular TimeMachine (main Mac at home, drives in home-(W)LAN, TimeCapsule etc), content gets dumped there.


But …

a 'backup' on the same drive as the source is mostly … nonsense.


And your iPhone's content is stored in the iTunes Lib; which should be back-upped too ...
