I just purchased a movie and cannot sync it onto my iPad
I've made sure there's enough space on the ipad and it just won't transfer.

Same trouble on mine.
Same problem here. This happens only with the two latest movies I purchased on iTunes. All other movies keep being synchro as usual.
Coincidentally, those two movies were purchased after I migrated to OS X Lion. Is it related?
