Hello All,


I am trying to find an option to have a Finder window show all the files and directories by default. I have trie everything but just cant seem to do it.

Download the free application "TinkerTool" (not "TinkerTool System") and select the Finder tab. Select the option to "show hidden and system files." Relaunch the Finder.


CAUTION: The TinkerTool application enables to you easily change settings for which there is no built-in user interface. The changes it makes can be easily reversed, but only if you remember how you made them.

Although this option does not allow for any arrangement of any file type - ALL are arranged numerically and alphabetically.


It would be better if Apple let users see what they want to see: For example ALL the files arranged how users what to see them - eg all the PDFS arranged sequentially, not mixed numerically with jpegs, gifs and everything else, just because Apple (for reasons known only to them) don't want users to see all the files all the time. Why not? What happened to user choice?
