What is your primary use of iPhoto? Just organizing photos and occasionally making prints? If so then iPhoto 08 would suffice nicerly. However, if you want to use iCloud for photosharing or make use iPhoto to create books you will need to upgrade to iPhoto11. The only feature of iPhoto 11 that I and many others don't like is the Faces feature. But all you need to do is ignore it.

No one (except you ) is misleading anyone - you do not understand iPhoto '11 and it is just fine that you do not wnat to use it - no problem - it is not fine that you spread false statements and confuse others with yoru persopnal opinions - each person needs to read the technical specs and ask questions about their personal use - millions and millions and millions of people are very happy with it - a very small number including do not like it - your choice but do not make false statements to try to convince others to follow your personal decision - let them look at actual facts and act on them

Full screen editing is perfectly possible. There is no loss of function there. Yes the toolbars no longer float. But full screen editing is perfectly possible. You're conflating a layout change into a loss of function. There is none.

I've just emailed 11 photos from iphoto to myself. I did it from iPhoto. You can't do that from iPhoto 09. I then changed the preferences to send from Mail and sent 11 photos to myself from iPhoto via Mail.

In Full Screen mode select 2 pics. Click on edit. See them side by side.

Now you're 0 - 3.

You sound like you're in the high-school debating club.

This seems to be an issue of semantics - when I say "Full screen photo editing (using the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)", I mean "Full screen photo editing (using the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)". When you use that phrase, you seem to mean "Not full screen photo editing (not being able to use the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)".

While you're perfectly free to define black as white, don't be surprised when it causes confusion. Let me spell it out for you as clearly as I can:

In iPhoto 09, you can use the full screen to see and edit your photo.

In iPhoto 11, you cannot.

That is a loss of functionality.

To be honest I have not looked at it in a couple of month - I am genuinely interested in whether the bugs in 11 have been fixed - I'm excited that they have fixed the 10 photo limit - that's certainly progress - the same for the side-by-side comparison editing - although I presume the toolbar bug is still present there?

Thanks!
