I get an error 'The operation could not be completed' anytime I try to use YouTube on my iPad. I can open the YouTube application and see video options but get the error when I try to play them. I get the same message when trying to play YouTube videos either in Safari or Facebook. The iPad is a week old and I immediately updated to iOS5 so I don't know if it's a problem unique to iOS5 or what. Can anyone help?
Exact same issue here. Brand new iPad 2, updated to iOS5....same error when trying to play vid via YouTube app that came on iPad. I've closed all apps, rebooted, checked firewall settings on network and still no luck.
Update - It works fine from home so it's got to be something on my firewall here at work. I've got youtube on the allow list, mp3/streaming open and can access it via my laptop here at work just fine. Just updated to iOS5.01, no change. Any ideas?
Another update - Fixed thanks to another post by doing the following on my SonicWALL...
Security Services --> Gateway Anti-Virus --> Configure Gateway AV Settings --> Enable HTTP Byte-Range requests with Gateway AV
Click OK
I'm still having the same problems. Guess I'll have to call Apple support. Annoying. It's not a firewall issue (since I don't have one) and I have the same problem at work and at home. Plus I can watch YouTube videos on my laptop so that would imply that it's an iPad issue and not an internet issue.
I cleared my cookies, cache, and history, rebooted and still get unknown error with YouTube app and can't play with safari mobile YouTube site either. Help?
