MP4 files in DVD Studio Pro an "Incompatible Format"?

I'm trying to import a MP4 file into DVD Studio Pro, but I keep getting an error message saying it's an "incompatible format". Does anyone know what's going on and how I can solve this problem?

DVD Studio Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2), DVD Studio Pro version 4.2.2

Open up compressor, import your footage and apply one of the DVD preset (NOTE: do not use the HD DVD preset).

You will export both a video and audio file.

The only format that DVDs use is MPEG-2, and furthermore DVDs are Standard Definition, so for NTSC that means 720x480. Now DVD SP can do the conversion for you from certain formats, but not HD MPEG-4. You will need to use Compressor to create a MPEG-2 of your video and a AC3 of your audio. Bring those into DVD SP and you will be able to make a DVD.
