iOS 5.0.1 problems - Searching for Network and battery life still isnt great.

So I dont know if anyone else is having this problem but I upgrade to iOS 5.1 today and it seems to me that my network is being dropped A LOT today. I know it probably doesnt help that I'm on T-Mobile with a factory unlocked iPhone 4 but it seems that before I upgraded, I was able to keep my network for a longer amount of time. Also, I think iOS 5.1 actually made the battery life worse. Im down to 40% and thats without any calls, a few texts and very little wifi surfing.

Reply if your having the same problem lol

Things have been getting even worse for me.

Ive had the no signal, searching problem for over 4 weeks now. And doing a restore through itunes used to give me about 3 days of "normal" phone operation (i could call, send texts, etc) before it would lockup in its no signal, searching bull ****. Now restores do abosulety nothing, plus. Now the phone freezes and basicaly ***** a brick. When it starts to get ****** off, it would just freeze when i try to swipe between pages, or go through menus. Then it would have a no signal/searching seizure.

If apple actualy gave a **** and read about our problems, they would attempt to contact me and take my phone in for investigation. I have no way right now to call apple, and if i try to request service on their support site, it just gives me a "Can not complete" error bull ****.

I had updated to iOS 5.0.1 on my iphone4, and now most of the time it does not even connect to the o2 network in London, If I go outside the network coverage and come back again, the phone keeps showing searching, switching off is also not worth, Every time I have to reset the phone. My wife is using a Samsung Galaxy S Android, but after seeing how it gets frozen and slows down when doing multiple tasks, I have decided my next phone is certainly going to be neither apple or android, I will wait for Windows 8 on a Nokia. Why cant apple just have problem reporting function right in the iphone itself, too scared!.

I installed 5.0.1 yesterday, and after a couple of hours I got a SIM NOT RECOGNIZED error. Restarted the iPhone and after an hour it happened again. Restarted once again and this stopped happening. However since then the network is always going down. Both 3G and 2G reception. An absolute disgrace. The worst is that it shows the bars for good reception but if I try to make a call or access any data services it just stalls for like 30 seconds and then it says it has no connection, moves onto SEARCHING and after a good bit if finally finds reception and starts working. After a couple of minutes it starts all over again. The worst is that by looking at the phone you think it is fine, but actually you can't get phone calls or anything. A Smartphone or Mobile Phone is first and foremost a phone and that feature not working is shameful. I'm hoping for a fix asap (meaning today)!!!!!!!!

Before i brought my phone in i did a icloud backup of my contacts only ( i have a suspision that the courrpted data could be in the itunes backup data.. So after getting. I'm upset. I'm in NY using T Mobile and ever since i updated to iOS5.0.1, my network's been dropping constantly and I can't do anything about it. The guy at the Apple store had the nerve to tell me to go to the nearest T Mobile store and get a microsim to fix the problem. The problem with that is, 3 weeks ago when I got the phone factory unlocked, it was working fine. Three days ago when I updated it, I stopped being able to make outgoing calls and 90% of my incoming calls have been sent straight to voicemail even though I'm being shown that I have 5 bars and my phone is on. I can't send out texts without having to send them three times or more and none of my incoming texts ever reach me. I'm going to try getting a microsim and see what happens but if not, the guy at the Apple store did say that he would replace the phone.

Hi, I seem to be having exactly the same issue and it became worse after updating it to iOS 5.01....my phone show a full signal and as I soon as I try to dial a number it says Call Failed and signal goes back to zero. It says Searching and the signal does come back after some time. I am getting rid of the phone for the time being and switching back to my iPhone 4 till Apple sorts out the issues..

I just spoken to Apple Care in Portugal, and basically they tell me to go to a technical centre to get my sim card checked, which they say might have become damaged in the firmaware update, and get my Hardware checked as well. I'll post the results from this visit, but it doesn't sound very promissing and it seems cristal clear that the problem is the FIRMWARE itself, unless of course, it fried my SIM. Scary!!!
