Nov 29, 2011 8:50 AM in response to xenoceaby 1D-Rock21,It seems weird that some people who have updated to 5.0.1 the battery is working good now and others it isn't. My situation might be unique b/c I too had great results from the update but just this weekend my phone started doing the same thing that was happening before. The usage is close to the standby even if the phone isn't in use and all programs are closed. Come awn apple!!!! This is very frustrating especially to loyal customers... Maybe give us something for being so patient!!!

Nov 30, 2011 6:01 AM in response to Sky9t_mikby 1D-Rock21,I finally fixed the Iphone 4s. Don't know how long it will last but hopefully till the next update that should come out in a couple weeks. I had to restore my phone and reinstall the software 3 times. 3rd times the charm. After everything was restored and all of my apps were reinstalled I left it plugged into the computer and did a soft restart. Please note that the phone was kept plugged in. Crossing my fingers this sticks for a couple more weeks.

Nov 30, 2011 6:21 AM in response to Sky9t_mikby Sky9t_mik,... I guess I found the error.
The only thing I changed was the installing of the WIKIPEDIA-App on saturday; and the loss of energy was huge.
Today I removed the app, fully reload the battery and now it seems to be good again...
Dont know what the App is doing in the background, but i won't install it again !
Cheers, Mik

Nov 30, 2011 7:53 AM in response to Sky9t_mikby sbailey4,Thanks for the update. I would bet there are other apps that do it as well. Wonder if all the folks saying 5.0.1 didnt help battery are using it as default from Apple or if they have apps installed like this one? Test it as default out of box and see how battery is. Then add apps back. Hmm may be worth investigating.

Nov 30, 2011 8:29 AM in response to mtbeaulieuby SlipStreamSVT,My battery problem comes and goes. some days it seems as though I won't get through the day (10% drain every hour) and other days, I can last 3 days with moderate usage before it dies. I'm in the habit of always closing all unused apps, I don't have many location services on, and most importantly, I have not changed a single setting from a good battery day to a bad battery day. I don't know what to do to pin point the issue here. APPLE PLEASE HELP. I may just have to go back to a blackberry if this continues.

Nov 30, 2011 9:25 AM in response to SlipStreamSVTby civdic,Certain apps seem to drain batttery. On my phone the apps that require or look for location are the worst. Even if the location is turned off for the app it seems to drain battery.
I removed two apps that require or look for location and my battery life has improved greatly.

Nov 30, 2011 11:47 AM in response to flemmingj1965by Tony Carreon,flemming:
5.0.1 is NOT beta. it was released on Nov. 10.
additionally, apple has stated they realize 5.0.1 did NOT fix all of the battery issues...
“The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices,” the company said in a statement given to AllThingsD. “We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.”
**EDIT** whoops. i guess I should read posts before replying. flemming was not talking about 5.0.1, but 5.1. my apologies.
