My iphone 3gs is stuck in recovery mode and whenever i try to restore it, the progress bar gets stuck at about 99%. I have searched everywhere on the web to try and solve it. I've done things from editing my host file to reinstalling itunes. I am freaking out! Nothing has worked! I have IOS 5 and fully updated itunes. Any help would be appreciated!

TOOK ME 4 HOURS and I Finally got it and i just had to tell everyone else whos stuck on this.
My Solution is that if you have a router, sometimes the ports through the router are blocking access to the Apple Update Server. So you must either :
MAKE YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION DIRECTLY TO YOUR COMPUTER THATS DOING THE RESTORE
CHANGE YOUR ROUTER SETTINGS IF YOUR GOOD WITH NETWORKING

On my router settings, how can I tell if apple is being blocked? I am on "Port Forwarding". What should i change?
Come to think of it, I don't think this is the problem for me. I have tried to restore my phone at a friends house as well, and no such luck. I don't think my problem has to do with the router.
