After upgrading to 5.0.1 my iPhone is draining the battery even faster! Anyone else seeing this problem?
I have this problem too (iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1).
I can support this too.. After installing 5.01 i charged it up fully before going to bed and after 7 hrs just sitting there lost 79%, and have lost further 5% while logging in and typing this. Going to try a full back up and restore this eve...
Before the 5.0.1 update I actually didn't have any battery problems on my iPhone 4S. But thanks to this update I now seem to have one, too :-( The phone was charging over night and I was already wondering that it displayed 98% when I unplugged it this morning, normally it would display 100%. And now after 20min of use (reading some news on the bus) and 1h 26min of standby, it is already down to 92%. 30min before now it was still at 94%. Up until yesterday it was at 97-98% at this time of day. Apple, maybe you fixed some battery problems, but you seem to have introduced new ones, too!
Same here!! Upgraded to 5.0.1 on my iphone 4 last night and battery is shockingly bad!!! Not happy as battery was fine before and only upgraded as thought it might get even better! Totally disgusted that apple allow this to happen!!
Yeah same here.. since it finish charging this morning at 4am or so when I turn the laptop off.. I'm at 80 percent now at 9am.. the scary part is that I have siri and location services turned off, brightness setting at only 1/4..
Heally79, if restore work, can you let me know..
Apple really need to fix this.. or at least advise people that "for the phones that did not witness any battery issue out of the ordinary previously, please do not update!!"
try doing a hard reset. I usualy do a hard reset after ALL update and restores. Hope that works
Hi frankenglish!
How can i do that hard reset? please tell me.
Thank you,
Peter
I have noticed this also, I think it could be down to the amount of things that Apple have added like the functions in iCloud because I have realised how much I actually have enabled.
I seem to be losing battery life signifcantly after upgrading to iOS 5.0.1!!! Both my iPod4 and iPhone4! Before, I never noticed a problem. I even restarted my phone right after installing.
I updated it to 5.0.1 last night, and this morning had a test after 100% battery charged. But what I saw was the battery problem wasn't solved, and it was even worse. I was on Safari and Settings for 20 mins, battery drops 14%. This was worse than 5.0 when I was using Battery Doctor Pro supporting my 4s. I haven't used restoring after the update, but I will try to see if it will solve the problem. But at the moment, 5.0.1 is so disappointing.
Yes just posted a message my self regarding the issue - since restoring iPhone 4 to 5.0.1 at 8am this morning, and turning off all setting, making my iPhone an iPod - 1hr and 47mins later im at 49% of battery.
Looks like I am going to have to start using the company Blackberry Again - until the problem has been fixed fully.
ROFL WHAT AN FAKE-PLACEBO!!!!
Yesterday I applied the Fix 5.0.1.
Do you guys remember the "ANTENNAGATE" Fix where Apple was just has changed the display for the signal bars strength? ROFL?
They did it same here with battery.
After I intsalled the 5.0.1 full discharge and recharge, I´s able to hold the 100% up to 25 min talking/surfing/emailing. After that it drops to 98% instantly, then it continues dropping so fast I cant believe!!! Apple just changed the display of the battery status....
ROFL
I agree with you ! but i don't get why my baterry is worst when it was fine before the upddate !
I agree - I had NO battery problems with iPhone 4S and iOS5. Now, after upgrading to 5.0.1 battery is draining rapidly, and is as bad as the 3GS (which was VERY bad). What have Apple done? I should not have upgraded, but now stuck with around 18 hours between charges (with iOS5 it was around 30-35).
