After upgrading to 5.0.1 my iPhone is draining the battery even faster! Anyone else seeing this problem?

I have been happy with the iPhone for a while, but I have tosay that the ios 5 update with the fix does not work. Since the update, I amhaving massive issues with my microcell, which I have never had before, and thebattery life really stinks. I am really concerned now that the battery willeventually be damaged due to the rapid discharge and constant recharge. Sinceupdating to the fix, I drop 7 % in 17 min of internet use using the wifi. Inaddition, my phone is still draining while on standby. I have followed allsuggestions, ie, turning off time zone etc, and still no go. I have conducted afull restore, no go. I have, then deleted everything and treated my phone as anew phone install and still no go…. I am really frustrated with the ios 5. Iwish that I would not have converted my mobileme account to icloud and stayedwith ios 4.
By Stoga: I have followed a couple of suggestion listed in the string and I'm seeing better, not great, but better results. The first thing I did was to hard reset (i.e. complete power down) wait a minute or two then power back on. Second, completely charge the device, then let it discharge down to 5% or less, then fully charge again.

Hope this helps!
I also followed this path and have seen marked improvement even with all support services active. I haven't done a complete recharge yet as I'm waiting to do a full from empty. Prior to the reset I disabled all support services. The reset completely rebuilt my primary email account (wiped and redownloaded all emails). Seems like the issue may be related to allocation and the phone is being a fussy baby after just being fed and needs a burp.

No change in battery power loss. I lose about 1% every time the screen turns on and from over 8 hours of periodic e-mail checking and iMessaging I see the battery drop from 100% to about 30%. After 10-12 hours, it's straight to the charger.

I have an iPhone 4 and had no battery issues with 5.0. After upgrading to 5.0.1 battery life is draining at an alarming rate. I charged the phone to full last night just before bed, and it was completely drained in the morning. I charged it again this morning and within 3 hours of little to no usage, it was below 40% battery left. I called Apple and all they would say is that it's a "very known issue" and they are still "ironing out the bugs". They made an appointment for me at the Apple Store, though I don't have much faith that this will help. I guess I just have to wait for 5.0.2. This is pretty ridiculous, especially when the release notes for 5.0.1 say that it addresses a battery issue. Which issue was that? The one where your battery lasts more than 6 hours?

Brand new iphone 4s with ios5 and what was to me good battery life in typical use (certainly better than the HTC droid handset I switched from). I did the OTA update to 5.0.1 yesterday morning and saw upwards of 60% loss of battery life in a matter of a few hours. I attempted to revert to the earlier ios version via a restore, but it would not restore without me agreeing to the update, so I it appears I cannot go back to the earlier version.

In the meantime, I plugged the phone into the wall charger, turned it completely off and let it charge the rest of the day. Yesterday evening I turned it back on for regular use and am leaving it unplugged for use until it shuts down then will recharge via wall charger with it shut off again and see if the battery response is any better at that point.

Good grief!

Ill say this, that last night I was having terrible issue, I drained the phone till it died completely. I charged it up overnight and so far today it is doing alot better then yesterday, but like how it was 'normal' on ios5. I am currenly at 91%, 1hr 12minutes of usage, with a 10 minute call over 3g and the rest wifi/apps/imessage. Although, yesterday the phone started out strong and when it got to around 70% it REALLY started to tank. So we will see how the rest of today goes.

Normally, I see 8-9 hours usage a day from a charge, acceptable enough for sure. Yesterday it got right abotu 6 hours when it died. I had previously seen 12-14hrs on a charge right before ios5 and right after.

iphone4 16gb black, ios 5.0.1

EDIT-----------------------------------------------------------------

And now after 6 more minutes of use the phone is 89% and seemingly here is what will happen again...start strong then go really fast. My screen brightness is at maybe 10%? Its very dull, 3g on, wifi use, only location service is google maps and that app is closed. No push at all. Basically everything I can do to make it last long, and have always done so.

EDIT 2 ---------- 3 more minutes on imessage, 1% more lost. So I have lost 3% over the last 9 minutes of use. Apparently the batter starts strong and then just GOES south. Bad apple, BAD. Maybe this is why people get droids?
