5.0.1 update--even worse battery life

After upgrading to 5.0.1 my iPhone is draining the battery even faster! Anyone else seeing this problem?

Like many other members here, I did not have any battery issue under 5.0 (I have an iPhone 4s), but under 5.0.1 I see a dramatic shortening of battery life. I have even turned off some location services that where turned on under 5.0, but it does not change anything. It goes without saying that my iPhone usage did not change overnight when I upgraded...

Just to give you all an idea of what the situation is. With the original OS, I was going to bed with a full battery and waking up in the morning with 97-96%. Now, when I wake up it is down to 86%. Battery does not seem to last a full day, while it used to do it without any problem under 5.0.

It would be great to know from Apple if they have a clear idea of what is going on or if they are still in the dark. If a moderator is reading it, please don't hesitate to contact me for further information on my experience, if this can help.

A similar situation - for the night, my new 3GS discharges by 20 percent, while it is in idle mode, disabled 3G, Wi-Fi is also disabled, disabled services geolocation, disabled notifications offbackground applications, disabled auto time zone designation, virtually disabled all - is only the wireless connection. And with all this phone is in standby mode, losing 20 !!!!! PERCENT per night! This is absolutely not conform to the characteristics of the device(http://www.apple.com/ru/iphone/iphone-3gs/specs.html - where it is stated "The time Standby:300 hours"), I really regret that he had bought it, I can not normally be used for cellular communications, not to mention the Internet, etc. All its functions are actually for me is notavailable. Charge at all desire and all the background services disabled did not even have enough to evening. I need to probably buy their own sub-station - to properly use it or apply to the court.

I seem to be one of those unfortunate persona with dismal battery life on 5.0 and 5.01. I have tried all kinds resets, battery doctor pro and turning off notification services. None have worked, anyway, what is the point of having a smart phone which requires you to disable its core functionality to survive a day without charging?

This morning after full night on charge and trickle charge with Battery Doctor pro I have checked the weather with accuweather, read two news stories on Safari and finally a nights worth of twitter updates, not a single post read.

It is now exactly 50 minutes since I started doing that and battery percentage has dropped to 91%!

Everyone seem to not bother reading the complete thread, many just complaint and don't seemed to indicate what they have tried..

Did anyone try to fully discharge it as I mentioned previously in this thread until it died and then charge it back up to full.. worked for me

It seems everyone keep charging in between and never let it completely drained..

I'd love to hear the result of this method

My iPhone has become my pocket warmer. It is emiting signals continuously even while it's in my pocket. I get a constant stream of interference on my computer. Prior to the update if my iPhone was near the computer, I would hear a burst of interference on the computer as the iPhone made contact with the service provider. After the update the interference is constant even while the phone is not in use and in my pocket, which is what causes it to be warm. The only way I've found to stop the constant interference is to disable Cellular Data in the General->Network settings. This also does seem to cool the phone; it no longer seems to be my pocket warmer.

Apple: I volunteer to help in anyway. Please contact me.

A solution that worked for me: AIRPLANE MODE

I too had crazy battery drain (1% every 5mins!) and tried so many ways to solve it including hard reset, full re-install, turning off iCloud/wifi/mail/positioning etc etc but no improvement. Until...

I turned all features back on, gave the phone a full charge prior to going to bed and put it on AIRPLANE MODE over night. I woke 8hrs later with the phone still on 100% (it would have usually died in this time) I put the device back online and so far so good!

Last night was a normal night with device being left on-line over night. I'm typing to you now and have been surfing over wifi for the past hour and still have 92% battery. Far better than it ever was on 5.0.0.

I might add that when the device was eating battery I noted that the USAGE timer always showed the same as the STAND-BY timer despite the device not being used. Since the Airplane Mode trick it seems to be reporting correctly.

I hope this works for you guys!
