After upgrading to 5.0.1 my iPhone is draining the battery even faster! Anyone else seeing this problem?
I posted this and an answer to it about 5 posts ago
same problem here with the charge. talk abour draining fast!!!
Mate, tell me one thing. This Iphone 4S is my first iphone so there's a lot of things that i just dunno.
When you say do a full recharge after the battery runs out completly, the phone shuts down righ? then i put it to charge and after a few minutes the phone turns on by himself, in this point i let the phone on or i just shut it down while its charging? Thanks
Yes Andre, when the phone comes back on, just let it sit and charge with it "on" but with the screen off. So when it dies, and you plug it in, it will charge 4-6% and power back on. The screen will shut off, but the phone will still be on to answer calls and such. Just leave it until its done. I'm at 94% 47 minutes of use and 2 hours of standby.
Ok my friend, thank you for help 😉
I will test when the battery dies.
Horrible! I installed the new IOS last night and it didn't do anything to improve the battery life. Drains justs as quickly if not quicker! Apple better get this figured out soon or else there is going to be a revolt starting with me.
Let the phone die completely shutting off and recharge. I went from it draining 5% in 13 minutes to lasting 3 hours on standby and 1 hour and 22 minutes usage only dropping 8% down to 92% now.
on 5 I did not really know there was a problem though I suspected the problem . Things like even watching netflix for 2 hours drained about 15%. But when the phone is on standby and I am sleeping in the morning I see it drop 30% or more. I use lowest screen brightness .. And I see huge drops now with 5.0.1. Like when I browse for 20 mins it drops about 10-15%. on standby I get sometimes even 24 hours
I installed update, left phone plugged in way past the 100% charged. Unplugged, went to bed, woke up and phone shut off because it died. I am glad it happened when I was home, because it would have <edited by host> in an emergency. Didn't have any problems with battery life before this update. Hope they have another update to fix this problem
Hey everyone, I posted earlier about how iOS 5.0.1 was draining the battery on my iPhone 4. Last night, I let my battery drain & then charged it, but this morning, I lost 20 percent (with no use of the phone) in no time. So, I searched a few of the forums and found a possible solution.
Go to Settings --> General --> Reset (at the bottom) and then select "Reset All Settings." This WON'T reset your entire phone (you'll still have your apps, messages, etc.) but will reset some of the more general settings. When I did it, I had to reselect the language, set up my wifi again, and a couple of other things (a ringtone or two).
My battery had been at 48 percent when I did it. I recharged it, and since I did that, the battery's been much better and has held virtually its entire charge for the last couple of hours. I'm hoping this will last, but so far, so good. I hope it works for you all.
Charging your phone past 100% is a very bad idea, and can damage the phone
there is nothing like charging past 100%. Even if you keep powered on, the charger won't charge the battery
After the battery is charged. The charger trickle charges the phone at a very low voltage just to keep it topped off.
I think you need to check your facts with an ACTUAL APPLE EMPLOYEE like I did.
Overcharging a battery is always bad, however the phone doesn't let you over charge it. The charging cycle turns off AUTOMATICALLY when the phone is completely charged. I don't need an apple genius to tell me that. There are very few apple geniuses that are worth half the money they get paid. I've had all 5 iPhones, and they all stop charging when done.
