5.0.1 update--even worse battery life

After upgrading to 5.0.1 my iPhone is draining the battery even faster! Anyone else seeing this problem?

Thanks to all those offering suggestions re a fix. Its great that either this worked for you or that you are employed by Apple. If it was as simple as you are suggesting, then dont you think Apple would have worked this out a while ago.

I have tried every solution offered here. Yes I have reset the phone. Yes I have done a full restore. Yes I have turn off virtually everything (drew the line of switching it to airplane mode as this essentially makes it no longer a phone). Yes I have let it drain to 0 and then done a full recharge (a couple of times). Yes I have used Battery Doctor to ensure a maximum charge. I have phoned Apple support and I have been to the Genius Bar.

Nothing has worked. My iphone 4S drains 1% for every 2 mins of screen time (doesnt have to be doing anything) and about 1% for every hour on standby.

"I managed all of software engineering for NORAD - across all 26 companies. The nation's missile warning system upgrade was late and over budget, we had a big destaff coming, quality and productivity tanked and morale was very, very low. Plus we had to go from CMMi Level 2 to 4 in two years. We did it all. I would be more than happy to help you though this. Not a joke - no a scam - an honest offer."

... and you can't get your iphone to work? GOD HELP US ALL.

and your gear is propietary SW and OSes. Dude you're not helping or impressing anyone mr. NORAD.

@Apple

On the Nature of the Constantly Draining Battery in iOS 5 & iOS 5.0.1

There is a bug in <snipped> causing the daemon for AirTraffic to inadvertantly fail to release an assertion check (checking re: AirTraffic connection), thereby not allowing the radios to turn off, thus the quickly draining my battery.

Please fix this ASAP.

Note: Fixing it myself gave me 10 hours of use throughout the day today, working (I haven't been to my desk all day--yay for iOS)

Apple should sell products that work, no need to turn this off or that off. I am not a tech person, give me a phone that works. Apple seem to forget that the products they develope are supposed to be simple to use and provide a well refined, tested and working phone. Love all aspects of this phone and refuse to turn things of to stop battery drain as it defeats the whole reason to have the phone in the first place.

Seriously?

Apple is ALL ABOUT making electronics as easy as ****.

That's Apple's Prime Directive, their <raison d'etre> so to speak.

You forget that a Computer that works perfectly for everyone is IMPOSSIBLE.

At least given our current understanding of the Universe.

There are literally BILLIONS and BILLIONS AND BILLIONS

of little electronic messages being communicated over an intricate network

of pathways SO TINY that a Lab has to be built

SO SPECIALIZED that there are only like 3 in the world.

And that's just for one component out of thousands 😉
