Turning email to fetch does not fix the problem. I wish it was that simple :/. If it was no one would be posting on this forum..

Agreed it did nothing I still don't know if it's the ios that causes the battery drain cause this is worst than my 3GS battery !!! I hope I didn't get to lemons.

Same here. Updating to 5.0.1 on my iPhone 4 made battery life terrible and it was fine before. Why did I pay for a two year agreement on a phone that has worse functions than the phone I used 8 years ago?

Hope Apple is paying attention. When you need to fix the fix, people will switch phones. Get it right.

Ya they are already working on 5.0.2 or maybe it will be called 5.1 not sure but it's getting delayed cause of memory leaking in the code.

I posted this as a separate message as well.  I got 2.5 hours of battery time.  Tried EVERYTHING.  Went to apple store today, they gave me a new 4s, 32 gb.  Came home, set up as NEW, synched 35 of 80 apps, turned off everything ppl suggest, and I am Still ONLY GETTING 4.0 hours MAX.

I'm suck of it all.  May return it, use iphone 4 and wait a year until 5 comes out. That serious

Try doing a hard reset, first press the home button and keep it held down. While holding that down, press the lock button up top and keep both of those pressed down until the Apple logo appears. Do not release before then! This takes perhaps 10 seconds. Your phone will then do a reboot that takes another 10-20 seconds perhaps. This should clear up the problem. After you did it, back up your files and go for a restore.

Lol, if a hard reset was the solution nobody would be on here already. I have already tried everything as I have claimed except setting it up as a new phone I doubt it will work though I will wait for the next update and if that doesn't work I will probably have to set it up as a new phone and start from scratch cause I did after all restore it form a 3GS backup;.

I'm with you Vincent. I did set mine up as new and while it helped, it didn't fix the problem. And setting up as new fixes a lot more problems because you are just downloading the factory software and no reloading anything that could possibly be corrupt on a backup. So restoring as new is a better solution. But in this case, it still didn't work for me.

Hi all, Yes after the update to 5.0.1 3gs battery life is worse than it was before, Apples release notes said that ios 5 was a fix for poor battery life. Well apple we have news for you it didn't work, I was appauled with the battery life before but now it is dreadful even with most things turned off, I wonder if Samsung have the same issue?

It is about time that companies such as Apple stopped selling products that are frankly sub standard, come on Apple sort it out, we all pay a lot of money for these products and expect them to work correctly from day 1, we do not expect to be plagued with updates all the time.

A few weeks ago I posted a suspicion about this being a blend of certain apps.  I still believe that to be the case.

Today I received a message stating my data usage in November was in the top 5%.  That's funny, I've hardly used data since this issue started and keep 3G off most of the time to preserve battery life.

It's official, I'm downgrading my recommendation of iPhone to Neutral instead of a Buy.

Do we know if Apple is doing anythign or acknowledged the issue?  Or do they still believe it is "fixed"?
