Nov 11, 2011 7:44 PM in response to art_in_motionby Chappsnet,So sorry to hear that. I was lucky - my iPhone 4 had to be charged twice a day after the 5.0 update, but now the battery lasts *far* longer after the 5.0.1 update than it did before the 5.0 update. I'm obviously one of the lucky ones - it's been an amazing update for me. I didn't have any battery life issues with my new 4S, so the update didn't change anything about that device.
Apple has already admitted that this update didn't completely fix all battery life issues, so I'd expect another update in the near future. It *****, though.

Nov 11, 2011 9:09 PM in response to art_in_motionby Sam Gidwani,My battery used to drain fast until I installed 5.0.1 last night. 10 hours later, it is still at 90% despite having everything turned on. I'm quite happy with the performance of my 4s now.

Nov 11, 2011 9:20 PM in response to art_in_motionby tvarga,My iphone 4 (not 4s) never lost more than 50% of it's charge in a day's use until downgrading to 5.0.1. It's a downgrade because after only one 2 minute phone call, maybe 4 minutes of wifi based internet usage and about 2 minutes playing a game, my phone just died after about 12 hours of almost no usage. I even turned off bluetooth and wifi for most of the day.
This is very upsetting and makes the phone essentially useless.
We need better tools for determining which processes are using up the most battery power. Android can do that!

Nov 11, 2011 9:42 PM in response to Chappsnetby Captain Maniac,Like Chappsnet noted, my iPhone 4 S is working much better after the 5.01 update, and I am experiencing No Problems Whatsoever. What am I doing RIGHT?

Nov 11, 2011 10:02 PM in response to art_in_motionby bugbiteme,I would like to chime in and say I'm having the same problems as a lot of you. Worse battery life, and the upgrade was a pain. I have the 3GS and I've been waiting for the 4S hype to die down before upgrading phones, but I'm now seriously thinking about going over to Android now. This is pathetic!

Nov 11, 2011 10:20 PM in response to art_in_motionby as739,I just got my first iPhone (4s), so I didn't really know what to expect regarding battery life. But I can definitely say that after updating to 5.0.1 the battery is draining exponentially faster than it was with 5.0. After only 4 hours of my iPhone just sitting in my pocket, the battery drained from 70% to 26%. That is CRAZY bad! I feel like a fool for updating.

Nov 11, 2011 10:25 PM in response to as739by DCNY69,Don't feel like a fool, we are all in the same boat. My iPhone 4S was the best phone I had ever had until last night.
I wish I would have not updated until reading these nightmare experiences. It's sad to say but between last year's iPhone 4, Lion and now this battery issue fiascos, Apple is slowly turning into Microsoft.
I am returning my phone and going back to the 3GS or maybe getting the Galaxy SII.
