Nov 13, 2011 3:12 PM in response to art_in_motionby Roger Conner,I have to say that the fix at least tripled my battery life. I was down to 35% at the end of one day. Now I've got 65% nearing the end of day2.

Nov 13, 2011 3:18 PM in response to art_in_motionby fpinto919,well, we are not all having the same issue... my iphone 4, after installing 5.0.1. is much better... almost 22h in stand by and 3h with safari, facebook, some short calls and my battery still have 55%. for me, much better than before. don't have a solution for you all, but after up grade to 5.0. i had to reset and set up as a new device and it did work.

Nov 13, 2011 3:18 PM in response to stevejobsfan0123by Limegrntaln,Agreed Steve it's horse blinder syndrome. It's the most common thing I've seen on Internet forums. I moderate a tech forum and people will ask the exact same question that was answered right below their post.

Nov 13, 2011 3:20 PM in response to art_in_motionby shauncarter,My experience with the new update has made my battery life worse. The worst part is I was having no issue with battery life until I upgraded to 5.0.1. I am a 4s user and I wish I could go back to 5.0. Hopefully there will be a correction soon I will try running it all the way down, but this is frustrating.

Nov 13, 2011 3:27 PM in response to Limegrntalnby michaelfromgibsonia,Now Apple admits the fix didn't fix the problem for all phones.
This is not a one off. Their testing program and development rigor is falling apart.
Maybe someone should give the Jobs answer and tell people to just live with it? (Much like - don't hold it that way - the response to Antennagate)
I truly want to see Apple suceed. My guess is they are suffereing from being too large, too cocky and are all drinking from the same bath water.
CMMi Level 5 (for real - not the cert - but the rigor) and Deming is their only hope.
I managed all of software engineering for NORAD - across all 26 companies. The nation's missile warning system upgrade was late and over budget, we had a big destaff coming, quality and productivity tanked and morale was very, very low. Plus we had to go from CMMi Level 2 to 4 in two years. We did it all. I would be more than happy to help you though this. Not a joke - no a scam - an honest offer.

Nov 13, 2011 3:25 PM in response to art_in_motionby StuartH,I've found running the battery down does improve things. When doing it though, it was noticeable how long my 4S sat at 1% while I was opening games, music and videos... Since the full discharge and 100% top-up, battery is at 76% since 1:30pm today. (It's now 11:25pm.)
However, Siri is not working, voice dictation is not working, wifi is playing up and I'm not happy!

Nov 13, 2011 3:28 PM in response to art_in_motionby James Dempsey,My iPhone 4 had no battery issues after the iOS 5 update. But after I updated to 5.0.1, my battery drains anywhere from 5 to 10% per hour - even when I'm not using it. Actually using the phone for anything at all drains it even faster. A 12 minute phone call drained nearly 8% alone.
I hope they're able to figure this out soon.
