Setting time zone still stuck with 5.0.1

Mine is solidly on (purple arrow) both on my iPhone and iPad.

I have just switched the setting off (that turned it grey) to see if it is the source of my increased 3G data usage which occurred as soon as I used iOS 5 and 5.0.1.

I've got the same issue.

The purple arrow is on for significantly long periods of time. It doesn't seem to be affecting the battery life though. Monitored it for the last 15 minutes. The arrow was on but the battery dropped 1%.

I switched off all the location and system services but none of it had any effect on my data usage. So that may be linked to having no effect on battery life.

I was hoping this system service being solidly on was consuming data. So I ran some tests to prove this and it proved it had no effect. The only thing that had an effect was deleting my icloud account from my phone. Full tests in my other thread "beware increased data usage"

Yes, I saw this start happening about a week after upgrading to iOS 5. I just shut the phone off completely and rebooted and the problem went away. This is with Time Zone location service setting ON. Not seeing the purple icon after reboot.
