Did you check settings - location services to make sure it is on and then the applications you want to use location services have it turned on from the same settings area?

turn off location services then wait a few sec then turn it back on, should work after that.

The last time my GPS had problems I did a Home + Power button reset and it started to work.

    Hi

I got IPhone 4S arnd two weeks back. And i updated the IOS from 5.0 to 5.0.1 immediately after. I am also having the same problem. The main issues that I am facing are :

    1. not able to see the gps co ordinates on compass.

    2. Not able to find my current location on maps - error : Cannot determine location

    3. My facebook app, is not able to Check-in with my current location.

After some troubleshooting, i found out that non of these services are showing the gray icon next to the in Settings ---->Location Services ----> Compass and Maps.

Also, scrolling below, to System services, I am not able to see any icon, i.e. purple or gray in any of the service.

Hope someone can present the solution to that.

    Thanks

    Hitesh

Almost the same thing with me.  My main "news feed" page usually does not display at all.  I just get a blank page but the message center and other sections work.  I've tried a reboot with power plus thumb button with no luck.  I've logged out and logged in.  I have also delete and reinstalled the FB app.  this happened immediately after the upgrade to 5.0.1

ATT tells me it's the FB app however not everyone is having this problem and judging by the response on this board, neither does Apple.

Hi there friends... Hope i found a solution.

It happened to me today. I updated my iPhone 4S as soon as i got it out of the box to 5.01. Location services worked just fine until today when it stoped working completly. At first i had wrong location (500 Km away) and then i was getting the "error : Cannot determine location" message.

I tried everything desperetly. Hard reset...Close-open location services.... Reset ALL settings... Nothing worked.

But, Just --reset network settings--- did the trick for me! I now have a very accurate gps reception, even inside a building, even in a cloudy evening.

To be more accurate: The last and succesful try was:

    1. I did a hard reset. Nothing.

    2. Reset network settings --> SOLVED.

hope it was not just luck....

    Hi there,

I think I found another option to solve this issue.

If you still having difficulties, try and download anything from the App Store ( staight from the device).

This solved my issue ( It happens again every time I sync my device with the computer).

So I need to do every sync ( !!##!!)

    Hope it helps

the best thing is yet to come ... :)

By doing the reset network settings trick, the location services (gps) does indeed work, but ONLY when wifi is on. When I turn wifi of same as before, no gps support in any app.

    Anyone?

    or better yet...

if you turn off location services, the gps will not work until you: enable wifi, get connected to a network, open an app that uses gps (like maps) and then you can set the location services off and gps will continue to work else you'll get not gps support

    Anyone?
