I upgraded my 3GS to iOS5 a couple of weeks ago and it stopped working with my Apple Universal Dock. I also tried with a friensds iphone and it worked, so I thought that my 3gs was broken.
Then i bought a 4s (iOS5), and it just does not work. Anybody else with the same problem?

I'm using an iPhone 4 on IOS 5.0.1. I've connected it to the universal dock for the first time. It is not out-putting audio through the universal dock. So it looks like I have the same problem as you. Does anybody else have this problem, and does anyone know if it will be solved by a future IOS update?
Yep. 3GS, same problem. I hope they fix this one soon. I use that dock quite a bit.

I am having the same problem! Lastest gen of Ipod touch and iphone 4S running IOS5 are not putting out audio on the apple Universal Dock.
Yep, same here. have an Ipod Tough 3rd gen with IOS5 and audio out does not work. I returned it.
Same problem, six months later.
(Being the odd man out) I have not had any issues with my iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4th generation.
When did you purchase your dock? I have the older 2009 model, but there was a recent revision (even though supposedly the dock was not changed).
Now that IOS 6 is released you would expect they fixed the problem. NOPE Apple just ignoree it again. The doc is still not working with my IPhone 4s running IOS 6.
