iphone 4 will not connect to wifi network

Need help connecting my daughter's iPhone 4 (running iOS5) to my home WiFi network.

Correct iPhone MAC address has been input into router (it is set to reject non-authorised MAC addresses)

However, it doesn't ask for the correct authentication protocol (WPA2)

Requests passphrase but won't then connect - simply get message that iPhone "cannot connect".

Even tried a static IP (with correct subnet mask & router address) but no joy.

Does the iPhone 4 support WPA2-PSK [AES] ?

The router also has a "guest" network and iPhone won't connect to that either.

This time it asks for the authentication (WEP) but still won't connect when correct WEP passkey is entered.

ANY ideas??

My wifes iPhone 3GS connects to the same network with no problems whatsoever

Cheers

Hi folks,

SOLVED

iPhone 4 wasn't having any joy (and neither was my new 4s).

Tried turning OFF the security on the router, connecting the iPhones (yep, they connected OK) then turning on the security (WPA2-PSK [AES]) and both iPhones still connected.

So, it looks like this is the way to solve a non-connecting iPhone 4/4s with a Netgear WiFi router.

Hope this helps others with the same problem.

Regards
