Battery Life is WORSE after update for 4S

Mine is significantly worse after the update as well. I feel like I can just watch the percentage number going down.

Mine too. I have tried restoring as a new phone (carrier told me to) but to no avail. Can't believe that nothing appears to being done/said by Apple. Poor customer care. How can I run a business with no phone? Lets face it it's not cheap as phones go. It's a poor show to not even hear they're dealing with it. HTC hear I come? 😮

Apple are working on the issue. Lets hope that they'll fix it soon. iOS 5 has 200+ features and it seems that it also has 200+ bugs and problems

Sorry to hear that folks!

I updated my 4s Over The Air and not thru iTunes.

From the look of it, I have no more battery issues like I did before.

Turning on all location services and basically setting the phone to factory settings with all possible suspects of the original battery drain back ON, the battey life isn't draining like it did before the update.

Again, I chose the Over The Air update via the phone itself.

I did not use iTunes via my computer to update.

To anyone reading this who hasnt updated yet, Not sure if OTA vs plugged/iTunes makes a difference.

Same here. Soooooo excited when I saw the fix story on appadvice. Took about 20 mins to download via air. Result? No difference. In fact, now it only charges to 98%. ***? Just checking email all day, and it's dead before 5 p.m. Using Verizon. Come on, Apple, let's get a move on!

My battery life is also just as bad after the update as before. Turned on the pnone at 10am dead by 7pm with very little use of any kind nd everything including location services off. You can actually watch the battery meter ticking down every few minutes. This is crazy!! Sprint has no answeres to help, and obviously Apple is clueless... Time to go to the media folks!!!

Didn't really have a problem with 5.0.0, but with 5. 0.1 I now have a battery issue, this is after a full restore as a connected update went wrong and had to go into recovery. So settings are identical. VERY MIFFED, any pointers?

Also Siri recognition has got worse for English (United Kingdom).

I upgraded over air, I have restored from PC, cloud and new phone. I have run battery out (which is easy as it was flat it approx 4 hours today from fully charged) and reset as new phone directly on to handset. I have tried everything. Mine also runs quite hot now all of which it didnt do before the update. Rang O2 today and they had the audacity to assure me that Apple were bringing out another update this afternoon!!! I sort of interogated them as I was very suspicious of that especially as it took Apple over amonth to bring out this update when they knew so many people were having problems - I wasn't one of them - so I thought 48 hours for another update seemed a bit too efficient. And guess what.......NO FURTHER UPDATE!! Shocking really to know that O2 staff have no integrity either!! So no tips here people I am afraid. By all means try, they have worked for some but alas, not for me. Im due a chat with Apple help on Monday so I'll report back after that.

There is definitly problem on iPhone 4s battery, do not think it is software issue that Apple claim to be. I updated both my iphone 4s and my son's iphone 4 with OFA iOS 5.01. iPhone 4 has the battery life of 70% after 26 hours without charge while iPhone 4S has the battery life of 70% after 2 and 1/2 hours without charge. Apple please admit and fix the battery problem!!!!

worst iphone trouble happend to me 4s is not way much better then original 4 siri-useful camera-useful useful for people who need medium hd photo in iphone 4 5mp is enough!! a5 is not way much better and about cdma sure i need it most living in russia with only gsm allowed on contract free iphone so its a bit sad that apple made this mistake called iphone 4s

The latest uodate made my battery drain way faster than before. How do I revert to the previous version?

My new 4s was perfectly fine before my settings announced there was an update that fixed battery problems (I didn't have this issue), and improved Siri performance for Australian users, yey. I did the update over the wireless, all seemed to go well, but now my battery is dead by about 4pm with virtually no use or by midday if I make some calls and check emails while on the train going Into work. I can't charge during the day so I'm stuffed when my phoe dies.

Is there any way of reverting the update? I am currently having to use my 3GS with a sim swap back to the larger sim. My 2 1/2 year old 3GS still has about 30-40% charge at midnight when I put it back on charge.

Apple this needs fixing or I want a refund, I can't have 2 years under contract with this, it's not fit for purpose...

I'm in the same boat. When I bought the 4s, I was really impressed with the battery life. So much so, I would brag about it. I could go the whole day without charging. After the update, I'm lucky to make it to mid afternoon. It's ridiculous. Add to that fact that sprint is my carrier and this phone is completely useless now. I also would like to uninstall this update. If it doesn't get better (both battery and data), I'm going to be forced to go a different direction. I travel a lot. This phone is not meeting my needs in any way, shape or form right now. That's a shame because I really do like the phone itself.
