    Hmm, I just put my password in again and it started working. Maybe you just need to reset the account details?

    Out here, too (Hamburg Germany). Same thing, iCloud keeps asking for the password to send mail. Incoming is no problem. Same thing on the iPhone.

    Mail out here as well (Santa Maria, California).  Can receive but not send.  Sigh

    Mine was off but is back now. You might have to replace your password in the account settings.


    The Exprees Lane said it was known and had no idea why it was not on the status page.

    If you are on iCloud this is the wrong address. It should be and SSL is required.

    hey guys so i talked to apple they are preforming a MAJOR update to the server and it looks like they might be adding features as well i will keep yall posted but it looks like it will be off and on for about three more days sorry guys

    So, they're doing major upgrades - good.


    Looks like it may be on and off for the next few days - well OK, if they're working on it.


    But why oh why nothing on the status page.


    The lack of basic manners is astounding. How many people have been trying to fix it their end as there's no ……… message.

    Its down here in Fairbanks Alaska. Is this showing how sucessfull (in adoption) icloud is? Because its been down for the last week for me. I figure theres a influx of new apple users with the new iPad, i dont know exactly how they can't handle this but can handle itunes in the cloud. Common Apple.

    been down here for the last 2 days in Orlando FL.  Reset everything still down on idevice's and Mac's. Receive working but not sending.

    Yes, my icloud has been down since last mid-week.


    Before, it would ask for my password. 


    I would give it and it would be fine. Everything would sync.


    Now, it says the incoming server address is bad.  And nothing will sync.

    Ok, it's back up again for me in the UK.


    Deleted my account in the Mail app a few weeks ago when the problems started. Came back today and opened the iCloud preference pane from System Settings. Ticked the Mail option (top one) and this time it stayed ticked; opened up the Mail app and everything looks Ok again.


    Tried this a couple of weeks ago and it was not so good; but trying once more today works.


    Meh on the lack of communication by Apple, but glad it's back.

    Love my MacBook. iPhone 4 is fantastic.  But, seriously Apple: You cannot keep a mail server working????




    I am not happy having to troubleshoot Outlook, but OK, it's a MS product and you two don't play nice sometimes.  Can I count on you to deliver my mail to my iPhone though?  Why does my mail account malfunction regularly on my iPhone, while my account is up 100% of the time?  How about a website where I can check my mail if all else fails?  Nope, and now are usually out too when I am having these email problems.




    So, now you're fixing the mail server, right?  Great!  Get it right.


    Mail is going to be down intermittently over the next several days? EVERY other mail account or web service with which I do business, would have sent me an email notification. But thanks for at least allowing us to spread rumors and collect pointers from other users on this board! 


    Fix this for good or lose me (and thousands of other frustrated users) forever.
