Q: p99-imap.mail.me.com iCloud DOWN!!!

You cannot change the iCloud server in Mail. It is greyed out, and is not listed in the advanced list.

I can't change the iCloud mailserver in Mail. It's greyed out. Any ideas?

Read this support doc from Apple

I don't think you fully understand. In Apple Mail it is not possible to change the iCloud server address.

Did you bother to try removing the account and putting it back

As a Level 5 you have far much more wisdom and knowledge than I do! But why should that be necessary?

In my mail preferences the server address has been allocated by Apple. Surely they should be sorting this out??

I thought that was the whole point of iCloud. Seemless integration.

You do not have to follow my suggestion, please use your own methods.

ok.. do I have to delete all my mail accounts and then set them up again? I tried creating a new mail account but that was rejected because iCloud already has my host name.

Yes... Mail is now working for me too!

Obviously the server is down.  I deleted the .me account from everywhere and tried to add it.  You do not have the option to change the imap.  This is the error I get : 

     The iCloud IMAP server "p99-imap.mail.me.com" is not responding.  Try checking the network connection and the the server name is correct.  Oherwise, the server might be temporairly unavailable.  If you continue, you might not be able to receive messages". 

So there is no way to change anything no matter where you do it from.  I guess iCloud is down.  Would like to have seen something from Apple stating that indeed they are down and they are soooooooo sorry!

GOOD NEWS? At least for me, iPad and iPhone iCloud emails are working. Wait we will ...

Yes. When you set up an iCloud account on Apple Mail it automatically applies server settings. And your theory about p99-imap... is not correct. It is obviously used by Apple, as my account is back online using those settings.

I changed mine to reflect the server address referred to in Apple's support documents, I have had no outages, not even today.
