Music not working on iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1

I upgraded by iPhone 4, iOS 4 to iOS 5 and ever since that my music is not working. The songs are all there but they're not playing. I thought maybe upgrading it to the 5.0.1 might help but it didn't. Everything else seems to be working just fine. The music plays once in a while but not the track that it is showing. It plays the one after it. Has anyone else faced this?

After upgrading, only the purchased songs will play. Songs from my library loaded from CDs will not. One thing seemed to work: deleting the album and reloading it. This was done after powering off and back on after update. I too am not that savvy with electronics, but there should be a more elegant way to do this than one album at a time. Could not believe that Apple Support wants you to pay them an annual fee of $79.99 per iPhone to get support for their product!

I have the same problem. I called apple and talked to an expert. First we tried unsyncing and resyncing all of the music but it didnt work. Then we tried deleting a song from the phone, that was purchased from itunes, and then redownloading it from the itunes store (I only did this to one song and all of them were fixed). It worked! Now, about a week later, it started happening again. I dont know what to do.

Same problem.... Audio is not working after a iOS 5.0.1 update.

-All sounds work with headset with mic, BUT, too much ambient noise, the iphone respones by going haywire. (ie by playing music and ending calls)

-audio won't play music and sounds from music library and all 3rd party apps.

waiting for apple to clean up this f*ing mess with this f* up update.

I have this problem as well, started in iOS 5 but has persisted with the most recent update. I have an iPhone 4, and noticed one whole album for an artist where I have several synced was not showing. I have done a full restore, gone through the unsync/sync music many have suggested, nothing is working. I can do a search on my phone and find and play the music that way, so it is sync'ing, just not showing up listed under Artist, Album, etc.

This is music I have had on my phone for a few years (since my 3G) and I'm confident the files are not corrupt. Until I compare my playlist to my phone, I'm not sure which music isn't appearing in the iPod app. Very frustrating that this issue has persisted through an update and no one seems to be finding resolution or a workaround. Wasted 2 hrs today screwing around with this.

Apple - really? Your core feature is broken for months?

Obviously iTunes Match, iCloud, Genius, and past purchases are all causing grief for users. Stop being in denial and fix these issues.

I am sick of a broken shuffle feature.

Sick of missing artwork or artwork that works in landscape and not portrait.

Sick of the music application buttons freezing

Sick of the > button appearing but the song not playing

Sick of random mid-song freezing and skipping
