Apple is not keeping the promise of fulfilling the replacement in 6 weeks. Mine is in on the 29 nov 2011, although I sent in earlier thru a service centre earlier, but the stupid work order states that order is in on 29 nov 2011.

Even if that is the case, it's been 8 weeks now.

Don't make promise that u cannot keep!

The more I think about this, the more angry I get, especially that money is not the problem for Apple, or Apple is not putting priority on the replacements and instead trying to make more IPhone and IPad .

Come on Apple. You already have my iPod for 8 weeks now, when will u  return it?

Apple, say something, don't keep quiet!

Mine has been in Step 3 since the 17th December, this is the 6th Week now. Anyone else in the same boat? Or worse?

Wow, that really ***** and must be frustrating as heck.  I started the process on Jan 22nd, got my return box on Jan 25th, mailed my Ipod back on Jan 25th, and it was receieved by Apple on Jan 28th and is now showing replacement pending.  I wonder how long I will have to wait now for them to actually ship my replacement.  Up to this point the process has moved very quickly and I and been impressed with the speed of Apple's response.

What really ticks me off is that both me and my sister mailed it back to Apple at the exact same time. We went the post office at the same time and everything. Steps 1 & 2 changed at the same time on the repair page, but she received her's back nearly two weeks ago and I'm still without an iPod. This (to me at least) is proof that there is no organisation at Apple regarding these replacements. Such a let down.

Have you tried giving them a call to discuss situation??  I sure hope it does not take that long for them to send me mine.

You DO know that they are not going to "return" your old iPod, but will be sending a new 6G one as a replacement, right?

I just called Apple about mine, which has been pending since Jan. 13 (they got it on Jan. 12). The rep said it takes up to 6 weeks from the time they receive it, so I think those who get it early are simply lucky. Also, I asked if there's a chance to request a specific color and he said no, that most likely it'll be either silver or graphite. Oh well. No biggie. At least it's a brand new one! Can't wait for it to arrive.

I'm in step 1 from Nov. 13. Kind of gave up on it, but the more I think about it, the angrier I get. Have sent a couple emails to apple support during the last 2 months but have gotten no response. I dread trying to make a phone call - I know how long those can take to get anywhere.

All I know is that a ##############mate of mine sent in a broken nano and got a replacement ! I'm not sure they are bothering to check them all. His did not swictch on but looked ok (no cracks in screen for example)

I'm in seemingly endless product replacement pending queue

All Apple cares about is whether the serial number indicates that it was manufactured  during the time period that the bad batteries were being used.  They don't care what it looks like or even whether it works or not.  If is has the right serial number, they double check that and then trash the unit and aend you a new one.

Well, I requested the service on Novembre 18th, never received the box.

I called Apple on January 22th, they said that they will send the box.

On January 24th, Apple opened a new Repair ID (yes, a new one!) and send an email giving me instructions to go to a UPS store and send the iPod. I did it on January 27th.

Apple received the iPod on January 30th. The status for my repair is "Product replacement pending" since January 31th.

And now I have to wait six weeks, or more... A long way to a replacement program!

I sent mine (2 of them) in on November 22nd. As of Jan6/7 I'm getting the Product replacement pending as well. Seriously Apple? So I'm looking at a 12 week turnaround time to replace two broken iPods. Ridiculous.

I got the Package to send it off in about 3-4 days i think. They sent me a 6th generation iPod nano, came in 6 weeks. It had a little book with it saying that because of "limited availabilty" some people get a new 1st gen others get the 6th gen. Happy with that to be honest!
