iSync with telus RAZR V3c and imac G5

Nova Media - probably best known as the developer of the GSM-based Mobile High Speed for Mac OS X - just released a set of free plug-ins for iSync. In that package, there is support for your Motorola V3c. You can download the package here:

I too have the TELUS V3c...am having the same issue...
The NovaMedia iSync plugin exhibits the same behavious as the program the original poster mentioned...it can sync contacts just fine but fails when syncing contacts 😟

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

I've got the same problem with my RAZR v3c from Telus. I can sync only calendars with isync.

I've tried Ask Dave Taylors iSync .plist edit:

I've tried the plug in from BrainToth

and I've tried Nova Media's plugins.
None of them work!!

I found a little bit of information on some forum somewhere saying that because Telus has enabled the function where you Hold down the "1" key to get your voicemail, it conflicts with something iSync tries to do and crashes when syncing. This seems like a pretty strange and unlikely interaction to me, so I'm hoping it's not the case.

It does crash a lot though, and it only syncs one contact at a time with the demo version. And I don't want to shell out $15 and have apple release an iSync update the next day to make the v3c work!!

ARGH so frustrating. I even bought a 710 and returned it a week before I got my RAZR because I couldn't get that phone to sync either. ALL I WANT IS TO BE ABLE TO SYNC MY CONTACTS!!!! IS IT SO MUCH TO ASK???

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and to top it off, my buddy just bought a RAZR from Rogers and it syncs no problem with iSync.... ARGH!

Your experience with the Motorola V710 and RAZR V3 handsets supplied by TELUS mobility, and your friends experience with a comparable Rogers unit, points directly to your wireless provider being the problem. Evidently, something in the software or firmware configuration of the handsets supplied by TELUS is creating this issue with iSync.

It would seem that your only solution, therefore, is to have your wireless provider address the issue, or change providers.

TELUS mobility does offer the Motorola v265 in Alberta, which is supported by iSync only in USB mode, though that would likely eliminate any issue involving the Bluetooth configurations of the other units you tried. The Palm Treo 650 is explicitly supported by iSync, and third-party software adds support for Windows Mobile devices like the Audiovox 6600 and UTStarcom 6700* as well as Blackberry devices, two of which are offered by TELUS mobility.

*This unit is a Windows Mobile 5 device, and support for such units has been promised—but not yet delivered—from Mark/Space [the Missing Sync] and from Information Appliance Associates [PocketMac.]

Thanks for your reply, In Canada Rogers is a GSM network... so the RAZR that my friend bought is not the v3c.... I think it's like the v3i or something? The other thing that I thought was weird about the "holding 1 to get voice mail" is that there is a little mail icon etched into the number one key, probably meaning that it is like this on all carriers, not just Telus. I've been reading forums and hearing of many successes with Verison users... it should be the same phone though, no?

Oh well, I manually added all of my contacts one at a time using onSync, which is good enough for me. Hopefully apple or Telus or whoever is causing the problem can fix it.

Just bought a Razr V3c and am having the same problem - none of the plugins work. I think it's a Telus problem, but how are we going to get Telus to change anything?

If anyone finds anything, let me know. Have a TON of contact I need in the phone.

I can get my calendar to synchronize, but if I try to sync my contacts the sync fails.

My theory is that there is a firmware version that prevents contact synchronization with iSync. I tried with Motorola on multiple occasions, but they dodged my question which makes me think there is some firmware related issue.
