I used to be able to pull the corners of the selection to select and copy several sentences.

Now, I have a Define choice as well as a copy choice on a selection, but I can't extend the selection.

How do I restore ability to extend a selection?

I still get the drag points at the start and end of the highlighted text which I can drag and therefore expand the selection. Which app(s) are you using ? Safari and Notes are both ok on my iPad
Still works fine for me on both my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4. Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the power and Home buttons until the silver apple appears? It may not help but nor will it hurt.
It works some places, but not in some FAQs at GameFAQs.com where I copy hints and put in my notes for quick reference.
Try a reset as I suggested in my previous post. Try a different browser.
