voice recognition has stopped working

The voice recognition on my iphone 4s worked fine for about a week, for texting, siri ect. Now for some reason it has completely stopped working. When talked it appears to pick up my voice, but no text is produced. Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue. I had to get a new I Phone 4S because my last one overheated. The new one was working great and the Voice recognition seemed much better on the new phone so I was stoked. Then this morning I tried to voice text and it tries to recognize it but just idles with the 3 purple dots but nothing ever happens. The problem was initially exclusive to when I was using my I Phone on a Wifi connection. I contacted Apple Care to trouble shoot the problem and they advised me to do a hard reset, which I did. I was able to voice text a few times on Wifi but then it stopped working. They also advised me to try doing a total reset of my phone which I tried next. Now the voice to text feature isn't working at all. Has anyone had any luck in getting this issue fixed?

No, I have had the same problem. So I did the complete reset of the phone where I backed everything up on my computer and that did not solve the issue at all. Finally I called Apple and they were rude to me telling me it was an issue with Siri and that they were working on it and that they would let me know when it was resolved. My question is why did we pay more for this device if the very function we paid more for doesnt work most of the time??!!!

I have the same problem on voice recognition and only receive 3 flashing dots. Siri works OK. I did hard restart, did not help, reset, did a network reset and that did not help. Called Apple and told them that my daughter's phone worked. Mine has worked for about 25 days good. Siri works. Apple support had me to turn off Siri and restart, that did not work. Then I was told that this was a problem with Apple software and management was aware of it. I asked when it would be corrected and was told that they did not know. Support told me there was nothing else they could do to get it working and I would just have to wait on the new update which they cannot give the date. I told them my Droid X did not give me this problem and even the old plip phones had voice recognition. The only hope for us is that at sometime Apple will correct their stupid problems that have always been basic in cell phones for years. I use apple computers and this is my first apple phone and beginning to realize Apple is beginng to slide backwards.

Seems i'm not the only one with this problem.

I have had my iphone for a week and now speech to text fails. This is my 1st apple product and I WAS impressed but this was one of the main reasons I bought this phone.

Siri chokes all the time too. Nothing like braging about your new phone to your friends only to have siri choke so you can prove how much your phone *****..

My speech to text has completly stopped working now though....

Apple I hope you will fix this for us and earn my trust as a new customer.

This must not be a phone related issue since there are so many of us with the same problem at the same time.

No way this many phones all quit working all at the same time.

Look at the post times.....we are all posting within mins of eachother.

I will give it until tomorrow to go away. If still not working I'm calling Apple since I'm fairly upset. This is supposed to be the sweetest phone on the market right now.

Stop $ucking and please be a sweet sweet phone again......
