Antenna/Signal/2G-3G-edge Handover Problems on iPhone 4S

I bought an iPhone 4S in Munich / Germany.

Then, I realized that my phone was losing the signal at very random locations and it was taking too much time to get the signal back. even sometimes, the signal did not come back itself, so I had to turn the flight mode on and off. Then it was fixed for a short time. then, I had the problem again several times. I went to Apple store, they advised me to turn PIN Lock off. I tried it for few days. It seemed to work. It was okay. Meanwhile, a friend of mine bought another iphone 4s from the same apple store, one day after I bought, he didn't have the same problem. Therefore, I was very disappointed so I swapped my phone.

So, I have a new iphone 4S, whose

Model: MD235D

Firmware: 1.0.13.

Now, the new iphone does not have the same signal problem as horrible as my old iphone4S. However, i can't say that the signal performance is acceptable. There were several times that another friend of mine having iphone4 had a very good signal but I, standing next to him with iphone4s, lost the signal and waited for some time to get it back.

I was expecting that Apple would fix this by iOS5.0.1 update. However, so far it does not seem so.

In addition, there is another small problem with my phone. Normally, I use my phone while cellular data is off. If I leave it off for some long time, when I try to turn the cellular data on again, I move the slide var on the settings menu, it shows like it's on, however, there comes no 3g sign appearing on desktop and I don't have cellular data connection. The only way to fix it is to turn on and off the flight mode. Once I do it, I immediately get 3g connection.

It's strange. I do believe that antenna/signal/2g-3g-edge handover performance of iphone4s *****. Even worse than iphone4.

You may be trying some new cool stuff like "world phone", "3g+cdma", smart antenna etc. But in my opinion, since you are trying to succeed these with only one iOS version which is expected to work perfectly on different hardwares with different capabilities, it does not work well.

I am getting seriously disappointed with my iphone 4s due to the signal problems, not battery problems. Even though you knew many people had it, your first update was introduced to bring some "battery fixes". there was nothing at all about any signal performance improvement on the description of the update.

We are definitely waiting for updates targeting signal performance fixes! Otherwise, I will give it back and it's gonna be my first and definitely, last iphone!
