I just got the 4s yesterday and it has very weak wifi reception. I had the 3gs and the 4 before this phone and our house wifi worked great on them. This phone is not picking up the wifi signal anywhere near as good as the past phones. Any ideas? I'm very disappointed.

If you transferred the backup from the iPhone 4 to the 4S, try restoring the 4S with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from any backup. If no change after this, more than likely the 4S has a hardware problem.

If I restore as a new phone instead of a backup, will I lose my info? How does that work?
Restoring as a new iPhone or not from the backup does exactly as provided - no data will be on the iPhone - as if a new iPhone before transferring the backup from another iPhone or before adding any data to it. This will not prevent you from restoring the iPhone with iTunes again from whatever backup. This is to determine if there is a hardware problem.
