How do I restore factory settings on my PowerMac with OS 9.2? I want to be sure all personal date/files/information is gone.

if you have the original install disc that old for that system, start up from it, when it walks you through the installation process, you should have an option for whether you want to do an "erase & install" or not.
Use Mac OS 9 Applications, Utilities, Drive Setup ƒ, and in the Initialization Options, you can select zero-all-data. This will take a lot longer, but will write zeros to the drive for extra security. You have to boot from another drive or the CD to be able to reformat the main internal drive.
