How do you transfer original and modified iPhotos from MBP to iMac?

How do you transfer iPhoto photos from a MacBook Pro to an iMac. I just returned from a vacation where I processed photos on the MBP and saved them in folders and albums in an iPhoto library that has many other photos that I do not want to transfer. I would like to transfer all (several hundred) of the vacation photos (both originals and modified) to my iMac. What is the best way to do this? Thanks, Rick

iMac 3.06 2GB, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

I would use my external usb drive.

If you want to move photos between libraries use iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -

I used advice from both of you. I copied the iPhoto library from the MBP to an external HD and used iPhoto Library Manager to link it to the iPhoto application on my iMac. Thanks for your help.
