I have read many messages regarding choppy and jerky performance going back to 4.3.1 Has anyone else noticed this with the recent IOS 5 upgrade? Any recommended solutions??

What Troubleshooting Steps have you undertaken...
unfortunately, I am a simple user - not a genius. I did try to do a restart and also closed down all running apps. I also upgraded to IOS 5.0.1 without any change. What do you suggest?

The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart.. Reset.. Restore from Backup... Restore as New...
Restarting your device
1) Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
2) Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Follow these steps to reset your device
Note: Reset your device only if it is no longer responding and the steps above do not work.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Backing up, Updating and Restoring
OK - yes - I did do a start and also a reset - nothing changed.
I can't see how a restore would help and I didn't want to lose recent messages and data.
Honestly - this looks like a buffer problem. Someone must have reduced the buffer or is forcing a dump much more often.

IPhone 4 has serious jerky choppy performance since uploading IOS 5. Scrolling through photos jerks; Roadmate voice commands are broken in a staccato fashion; Screen game play is very jerky - Everything is choppy!!
