hey i bought a 4s and i cannot activate it i dunno on what carrier it is but when i start it with a vodafone SIM it shows me 3g and signal bars but still cannot bypass activation.It says please enter a valid sim card,i need help please!

I found out that it's locked on SFR France i heard that apple can unlock them through servers.Like send them the IMEI and they unlock it..the question is where can i do this or how can i unlock it ?:(
Apple does not unlock carrier locked iPhones. Only the carrier an iPhone is locked to can authorize the phone's official unlocking. In your case, that would be SFR. Since SFR offers official unlocking for iPhones, contact them regarding the cost/procedure if you want your phone officially unlocked. Only SFR can authorize the official unlocking of your phone.

No, you purchased a locked iPhone with an illegal SIM card. The Gevey SIM is illegal in every country on earth.
Apple can NOT unlock the phone. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can do so. Find out who that is and contact them.

Then your only other option is to call Apple Care, give them the serial number, and see if they can tell you who it's locked to.
