Calendar will show anniversary dates?

Can we see the anniversary dates set for the contacts in the calendar?

I see this thread has gone on for some time, but this here is not the place to "wish" for certain features (or Apple product enhancement requests) to be added. The functionality we all want is kind of a hybrid between the "Contacts" app and the "Calendar" app, but given that the desired actual outcome falls within the domain of the "Calendar" app, then what we all need to do is to file our own enhancement requests for the "Calendar" app.

Here is a link where you can all do just that (and which I myself have just done):

No, it's still not working and this is extremely aggravating, as I have multiple family members with anniversaries and have to keep them somewhere else due to this on-going 7 year problem! I mean, Geez!!! Fix it for petes sake! I do not add them to the contact list so it will show up, because i don't need to junk up my Contact List with repeats of people I have in there.

Hopefully, this will be resolved before the next 7 year span!

I just tried again, and this time it worked differently. But there is another way. When i enter a date in the contact book, it does show up this year. ( if you entered 09 then i am not sure where it would show up). But go to 19 november 2011 in your calender, and enter the event, then, in the repeat field, enter yearly.

I just did, and looked at 2012, and it was there.

ranjit22002 I am facing the exact same problem. Whenever I add the "anniversary date" in Contacts I expected the same to show up in the calendar on my iPhone running iOS 5.0, unfortunately it didn't. However the "birthday" update in the contacts is showing up in the calendar as an event. I don't know how to replicate the same with anniversaries. If you get an answer to this question please help me with the answer.

Thx

Ravi

I have been trying to figure out why any of the anniversaries listed in contacts transfers to the calendar, I realized when birthdays listed transfers accurately. Now that I bumped into this site, it seems like a known problem with Apple, wonder if the new ios update will have this included.

I think the problem is because there is no additional calendar option listed under 'Others'. For birthdays, you will see it listed here.

This problem is also being discussed here:

I think not. But I created a Contacts entry for a couple "X & Y wedding" and then gave it a birthday date. Not elegant, but sort of consistent. It does give you the number of the anniversary as "X & Y wedding 6th birthday."

The alternative is to set up your own Birthdays calendar and enter aniversaries as all-day annually recurring events, but it won't tell you which anniversary.

This is a disappointing slip by the designers of this app.
