how to use air print

Trying to setup my iphone to print to my HP printer using wireless connection. When I search for printer is cannot find air printer. Both iphone and printer are connected to my wireless connection at home. Not sure what air printer is or what need to happen in order to connect.

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1

Is your printer one of the airprint enabled printers?

AirPrint only works on supported printers.

Printopia is an app that can make any printer available over AirPrint. I use it myself and it works flawlessly.
