My iCloud password stopped working on my MAC

My mac-mini keep asking for my password--I know my password because when I go online to the iCloud website I log in with no problems, using the same password. But on my mac it keeps saying

The iCloud IMAP server “p06-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “xxxxxxxx@xxxxx.com

Enter your password again or cancel.

Everything has been updated and checked.....and still this problem

I can't change (the mail program wouldn't let me change) the 'p06-imap.mail.me.com' I was trying to drop the p06--off the front end

I was getting mail and sending mail until yesterday....when this whole thing started.

Please help!!!

Also, note that I can get the iCloud mail on my iPhone and when I check the iCloud website I can send and receive the mail.....all using the same password...My MAC just stopped sending out the mail and the password wouldn't work.....ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Hmm.... I've not on iCloud yet, but every now and then my college's email connection asks for my password over and over again. I eventually "quit". Later, for some reason, my mac suddenly begins getting emails again without a p/w prompt. It's a mystery. Maybe iCloud has the same problem - a server hiccop maybe?

My mac still can't receive or send my emails despite trying everything.. I'm so cross as I'm going to move from iCloud but at a huge expense with stationary etc. I can't even access my mail via the web at the moment !!!! Only via my iPhone which is difficult for work. No help from Apple. Impossible through iCloud also. What are apple playing at??????
