Settings app badge notification

How do I get rid of the Settings app badge notification? I don't want to update iOS 5.0 on my 4S until they get things right. I see a signifcant amout of people say it made things worse. My battery life is not good, but not as catastrophic as some have posted.

I can't even toss the Settings app into a folder because the notification dot just shows up on the folder icon. I saw someone tried to restore the phone without benefit. I don't really want to make a new icon that opens the Settings app, since the notifcation badge still will be an annoyance on some page. I'm guessing I'll have to wait to jailbreak the device just to get rid of that badge, but if anyone has other ideas, I'd appreciate them.
