Low line-out volume and dropping 3G network connection

I have an iPhone 4S with iOS 5.0.1 on AT&T. Two things I've noticed since the upgrade:

1) Line-out volume in my car has dropped significantly (2011 Honda Pilot, dock connector to AUX input). With iOS 5.0 everything sounded fine at a volume level between 6 and 8, but now I have to crank it up to somewhere in the 16-20 range in order to hear anything (music, podcasts, whatever). I didn't change any of my audio settings, so I'm not sure what's up with that.

2) I will occasionally lose my 3G data connection ("Could not activate the cellular data network") and only a power cycle of the phone restores it. It seems to happen most often during/after a run with the Nike+ GPS app, so there might be a bug in the app. But I'm curious if anyone has seen anything similar.

Hi, James, I have to agree with you that ios 5.0.1 really cut my line-out funtion for my iPad2 and iPad1 dock. You seem mubh better than me because I have zero level in volume, it means the best way to empower iPad sound quality is dead, and it really pisted me off because the dock was working very well before upgrated to ios 5.0.1,! USD29 is not a big amount, but how apple could have done this kind of **** to sell to customers? May be Apple really doesn't know about this issue (god knows), or they did intend to kill this line-out function among iPad 2 and iPad 1 dock just because they are greedy and want to squeeze muti-millions more from us.

I really hope that Apple can bring me back the line-out funtion for my case (iPad 2 with iPad 1 dock) in the next ios upgrage, because I believe this is the logical support for everyone and our enviorment (turned ipad dock into a brick for wasting the resources and produce millions ipad 2 docks to cash in more money to become the no.1 weathly company.

An update on the second item: this morning I disabled WiFi before launching the Nike+ GPS app for my morning run. No 3G network connection problems. I wonder whether it isn't an issue of trying to hand off a connection from WiFi to 3G.
