How to register itunes without credit card information.

I have upgraded my os to Ios5 in my ipod touch. Now, to download FREE apps, system is asking me to register in itunes with a credit card. In the previous version we had a option to choose "NONE" or provide a credit card. Do you know, how to bypass the credit card info. I am not comfortable in giving away credit card infor for free apps.

2. I also lost my paid apps after upgrading the os. Should I restore to version 4. to solve these two issues?

Much appreciate your input.

Tucker

I am sorry but, the link didn't yield a solution,. Then, I called the APPLE tech support! Lo, 'n behold, the new OS is built to ask credit cards by default to download even FREE apps! Yes. even Free apps. Then, the question is what about those who own ipods/ipads who don't have credit card such as kids under age 16? The rep had no answer. I have also asked what about those foreigners where creditcards are a thing of 22nd century? No answer. Can Apple gurarantee that the customer's credit card information will not be hacked from their servers? I don't get it why APPLE wants to collect credit card info from customers for free apps? Much appreciate if someone from APPLE replies the reason or even better, if you add the old option 'NONE' along with the VISA/MASTERCARE/AMEX. Just an humble request to APPLE.

Hi Tucker, sorry I am late in the spot.

So all you need to do is download iTunes on your computer, and you can register there, when it is the part in the credit card info, you must choose the creditcard-looking box named "None" and it will only ask for your address, postal, phone, First/Last Name, etc. You can just make a fake one. Then it comes to the verification thing, you need to have your yahoo mail address and look the verification letter, once clicked, you need to login again to confirm and there you go, you now have your Apple ID!

Thank me if I helped!
