iTunes Match with more than 25,000 songs

I'm trying to get going with the Match service but I'm shut down by the fact that I have more than 25,000 songs in my library... (26,956). Anyone have any ideas on a way to get around this without moving music out of my library? Thanks!

I cancelled my iTunes Match subscription last year because it was too annoying only having access to half my music library in the cloud.

I have about 53,000 tracks and found Amazon.com's Cloudplayer an adequate substitute for iTunes Match. This is why I like competition in the marketplace. Amazon Cloudplayer does everything iTunes Match does, including upgrading old tracks to 256, but one ups Apple with a 250,000 song limit. My only problem with Amazon is that their music importer is buggy and freezes up requiring a completely new scan or a computer reboot which is annoying if you are trying to upload a large amount of tracks, like an initial import.

I'd rather have my music in iCloud and managed by iTunes but until Apple sees enough of us using Amazon's service and lifts the 25,000 limit to at least match Amazon's 250,000; I'll be listening to my music using Cloudplayer for iOS and using iTunes Radio to discover new music.

The only problem with the Amazon solution is it ignores high-resolution files - I have a large number of 96k, 176.4k, 192k, DSD64 / DSD128, etc., files, and the uploader just ignores them. I'd prefer at least a good-faith attempt at converting to MP3 😉 At least iTunes Match will give it the old college try, either matching or uploading up to 100MB / track.

Utter shame that itunes has this low limit.

I've carefully kept two libraries and moved across things I listen to as opposed to cds I bought years ago and don't really play but as I near the limit I'm wondering why I don't just move to Amazon.

I buy a fair bit from iTunes too so Apples loss in the long run I guess (I know those don't count but I still have loads more cd based music and music I buy from bandcamp that I would like inside my cloud player)

seems crazy to penalise people who buy a lot of music

Only commenting here on the off chance that it registers with Apple somehow - but I guess in the scheme of things upsetting a small group of people is just noise to them

what a weird attitude.

So Apple make a pretty good product/service - but it has some irritating limitations.

I have two choices - silently move to a competitor and live with the fact that it doesn't integrate with my devices and things, or at least have a go at saying to Apple- hey, nice service but these limitations are becoming a bit of a showstopper for me.

One person may make no difference but this is just business - if Apple see that they will make more money (by keeping current customers happy) then perhaps they will improve things. How do we let them know that things aren't quite right - grumbling in public!

I reckon I give most of my personal disposable income to Apple and Amazon - in recent years the convinience of itunes and itunes match has meant a good deal of my music & video buying now rests with Apple

but hey perhaps we should just all sit quietly and let companies sell us any old rubbish buying it no matter how much it doesn't meet our needs

Here was my message to Apple on the Feedback form at:

http://www.apple.com/feedback/

"The 25,000 song limit is really crippling to legit users like myself who have collected music for their entire life. My library has exploded with the addition of my vinyl collection to my library with pushed me way over the limit. I had to do a "work-around" to use your service. This does not fit with the "It just works" campaign. It just doesn't work. I use the service daily and I will continue to have 2 libraries, but this is not the way to take care of loyal customers."

I'm not sure it makes a difference. This is not a new service and there has been no recognition from Apple that many of their users (and I am going to guess the one who spen the most) are unhappy.
