    It has improved, but only a tiny amount. Playlists with hundreds of items in them now have 3 or 4 items in them instead of zero!

    Size restriction - i.e. - limit to 500 tunes - is still broken on my Apple TV after updating it last night.  Have not tried iPhone again but assume it is still broken.

    I just switched off iTunes Match as you suggested, waited until everything had disappeared and then turned it back on again (I didn't reboot)... This seems to have mostly fixed it for me, thanks.

     

    However, Genius Playlists don't seem to be synchronizing for me. Anyone else?

    My song limit is now working, at last, I tuned it off on my iPhone and then back on as suggested above.

     

    I will have to check the other rules though.

     

    Nested playlists were always off the cards weren't they?

    My smart playlists are not obeying the rules of last played or the playlist is not refreshing by the looks of things, previously the played tracks were being removed once played

    Turned off iTunes match in the iOS settings, music menu, left it a couple of minutes then switch iTunes match back on, a reboot of the phone is then needed and mine seems to follow the rules now. 

     

    Someone has mentioned an iTunes update and let that match refresh which I did a few days ago.

    Confirming that this worked on my Apple TV for Smart Playlist limits.  Have not validated play counts or my iPhone yet.

    After all the software updates, updating iTunes match, restarting of iOS devices, rebooting them, as well as rebooting iTunes, everything seems to be working the right way for me.

    Still no luck for me. I even deleted all the songs from my iPhone.

     

    I've found the problem is any playtlist that uses 'Description' doesn't sync to my iPhone (but some of them do sync to my other iOS devices).

     

    I changed the playlists to use something other than Description and they work.

     

    Also found (from here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3390549?start=0&tstart=0) to fix the order of the songs within the playlists check  "Limit to XXX [items] selected by [Album]". Set the number way above what the playlist actually holds.

    As I mentioned a few months ago I words in the comments field  and then create smart playlists based on those words.  For example, for my exercise music I put the word "Exercise" in the comments field and create playlists based on rating, most recently added etc.  This is now working just fine in iTunes Match.  Number limits for most recently played and most recently added are also working (after I turned off Match and then turned it back on as recommended previously in this thread -- Thank You! ).  My Most Recently Played playlist sometimes updates across devices (e.g., iPhone to iMac) and sometimes doesn't.  I am not sure if there is anything I can do or if Apple will fix this in a future update.
